TODAY'S PICKS — October 6
Today at the market we say goodbye to one season and see another arriving.
We’re wrapping up a great season for nectarines, while every morning autumn products are slowly taking over.
And among today’s picks, we’re focusing mainly on pomegranates.
We’ve chosen a new variety for this year: the Smith.
It immediately caught our eye with its wonderful red color, but of course color alone isn’t enough. We tasted it.
And it’s really its sweet flavor, once it reaches the right ripeness, that convinced us to pick it.
Because when a new variety comes along, it doesn’t automatically mean it’s better.
It means we have to look at it, taste it, and compare it with what the market offers.
And that’s the beauty of this time of year: some products end, others begin, and new varieties start to make their way in.
And every change brings us back to doing our job again:
We observe.
We compare.
We select.
Because when the season changes, the choice has to change too.
