CHOICES OF THE DAY — NOVEMBER 2, 2026 Do you call it kumquat, Chinese mandarin, or something else? Today we have lots of great news to share with you, but above all, lots of curiosities to explore! Let’s start with cardoons, an extraordinary vegetable from our tradition, often not very well known. Have you ever tried preparing them au gratin in the oven, with béchamel and Parmesan? A simple recipe that can turn them into a really special dish. And then there are borlotti beans: today we found some that are surprisingly beautiful. A visual quality that isn’t so easy to come across even in the peak of the season! Now let’s talk about the kumquat, the small citrus fruit that you can eat with the skin. But here we want to get you involved: what do you call it? Chinese mandarin, kumquat, or do you know a name from your own tradition? The same goes for snow peas! Snow peas, flat beans, coral beans… different names that change from region to region, sometimes even referring to different products. In your region, what do you call them? Write it in the comments! We'll wrap up with artichokes, which today come in different varieties: violetto, Capriccio, and Romanesco. Three different options, each with characteristics and uses that deserve to be evaluated individually. Because that’s exactly our job. We don’t just look for fruits and vegetables. We look for the qualities that make each product suitable for the needs of the person buying it. Even a borlotto bean, a cardoon, or a snow pea can tell something special, if we know what to look for. WE OBSERVE. WE COMPARE. WE SELECT. COMMERFRUTTA — THE FRESH SELECTOR We don’t sell what we have. We choose what’s worth it.
