THE CHOICES OF THE DAY — Friday, September 25, 2026 Did you know that even the way you cut a lemon can make a difference? Today we started from a small curiosity, demonstrated right in front of the camera. The early-harvest Italian lemon has an internal structure that is still particularly tough. With a vertical or angled cut, compared to the traditional crosswise cut, we can help break the internal structures during juicing and get more juice. But today's curiosity doesn’t stop there. THE MANGO: WHEN THE CHOICE MAKES A DIFFERENCE Yesterday we had a clear idea: to select Italian mangoes. This morning, after comparing the available products, we instead chose a mango from Brazil. Why? Italian production is reaching the end of the season, and the products we found didn’t guarantee the shelf life we look for for our customers. A selector shouldn’t defend the idea they bring to the market. They need to know how to change it when the product gives them a reason to do so. FAGIOLINI CAPELLI D’ANGELO Fine, soft, and without developed seeds. A choice made by looking precisely at those characteristics that make the difference when the product reaches the kitchen. EXTREME PEACHES An interesting variety also because the flesh easily separates from the pit. Because knowing a fruit means understanding not only its taste but also the traits that can make it more suitable for a specific use. Four products, four different reasons to choose them. That’s what we try to share with you every morning: not just what we bought, but the reasoning that led us to buy it. We observe. We compare. We select. Commerfrutta — The fruit and vegetable selector. We don’t sell what we have. We choose what’s worth it.
